10/18 Beer connoisseurs in the house? Grub Street Chicago notes another one of our faves, City Provisions, hosts the debut of Finch’s Beer Co. –> Slackjawed Dunkel from 6 to 9 pm. Free Tasting with SNACKS = we love it already! 1818 West Wilson.
10/19 Head to the Chicago History Museum for Dress Code 2011 to watch the runway debut of Chicago’s top fashion students’ creations as they create clothes inspired by Charles James. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the show starts promptly at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $25 and $15 for students. 1601 N Clark Street.
10/19 We’re stoked Foodease is finally opening! Not only do we LOVE Lettuce Entertain You, but MBK was once a “Steward” at Food Life when it originally opened in 1993. Ah, #TheOldDays. 10/20 Halloween spirit much? Adler Planetarium hosts Adler After Dark: Spooky Space from 6 – 10 pm. Dress up + think you can win their costume contest? #BePositive. Share photos and you’ll get featured on Delicious DIRT! Adler shares their version of “scary constellation stories” while we know you’ll be basking in their cocktails. 10/21 Double WHAMMY = More beer! City Provisions hosts another beer launch as Metropolitan Brewing Company introduces their new Carburetor Rye Bock #58. More info here: Grub Street Chicago. The event starts at 5:30 pm and ends when there’s no more beer. There’s no cover charge and snacks will be provided. 1818 West Wilson.
10/21 The HOTTEST COCK ON THE BLOCK we love, REWSTER’S CAFE, is hosting a special dinner this week folks. This Friday join Food Mafia at Rewster’s Cafe in Logan Square for a Chicago Food Mafia dinner where members get exclusive dishes not regularly served (ahem, panko salmon or glazed duck among other delights). Indulge your senses and pick from a hand selected menu prepared selectively for 10/21 Mafia dinner. 10/21 Another charitable food event is Chicago magazine’s Chicago’s Table which benefits research and therapies for stroke patients at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. From 6 – 9 pm indulge in food from some of our favorite Chicago restaurants and chefs such as Big Star, Davanti Enoteca, The Florentine, Longman & Eagle, and Sable Kitchen & Bar. $125 online. 435 East Illinois Street
10/22 – 10/23 SHOPPING ALERT: For the 3rd year in a row, Modern Vintage Chicago brings you vintage clothing and jewelry from vendors all over the country at Plumbers Hall. 10 am - 5 pm. Tickets are $8 in advance and $3 for students and $10 at the door the day of the event. 1340 W Washington Blvd.
10/23 Third Coast Filmless Festival means 12 hour long celebration of films at the Joffrey Tower -> 10am-10pm. You dig? 6 films presented throughout the day followed by an awards ceremony and a post-ceremony reception. Tickets vary in price from $12 for individual tickets to daytime screenings to $100 for admission to daytime screenings, the evening awards ceremony and the post-ceremony winners reception. 10 E.
