Owner of Franks ‘n Dawgs, Alexander Brunacci, is gearing up to bring us a second restaurant – and no doubt flavors will blow minds. Brunacci will be sticking to the same street food / fine dining flavors for his new project called The Peasantry while adding a additional menu items. The Peasantry is scheduled to open in May, and although there is no set menu yet, get these ideas in your naughty food porn mind: gyros made from ingredients like baby octopus, duck, or venison; duck wings prepared in buffalo-wing style; escargots; frog legs; grilled flatbreads; and house-made pastas. If this isn’t even the full menu yet, can you just IMAGINE what we’ve got in store? Word has it that a few of Franks ‘n Dawgs signature items (the house made sausages and lobster-roll bun) will transfer over to The Peasantry. What to expect: table service, a possible liquor license, and reasonably priced original food. Can not wait. 2723 N. Clark St.

Limited Time Only: Luxbar Adds Bell’s Java Stout

The more beer the better.  LUXBAR announced a new beer to their oh-so-varied family – Bell’s Java Stout from local Bell’s Brewery in Michigan. Featuring 7.5% alcohol, this custom blend of coffee beans, roasted locally just for Bell’s by Water Street Coffee Joint, means crazy intense flavors. As one of the of the only spots in Chicago to serve Bell’s Java Stout, this brew is only available for a limited time, so you gotta rush in! $8.50
