Artizone is perfect for us food nerds allowing us to shop local specialized shops right from our comfy couches. Artizone has already partnered with amazing Chicago sites Green Grocer Chicago, Gepperth’s Meat Market, Katherine Anne Confections, Pasta Puttana, The Great American Cheese Collection, Italian Superior Bakery, Hendrickx Belgian Bread, and Hagen’s Fish Market, but will be adding new vendors each month. Duchamp Closes Its Doors… But NOT For Long. Below

It’s official: Duchamp closed its doors Sunday night after serving up the food porn goods for over four years. Why we’re not worried: co-owner and hottie friend we LOVE Jason Freiman and his partners have got it made at one of our fave spots Bangers & Lace (go ahead and try their grilled cheese – gooey, cheesy goodness), The Anthem, and an upcoming resto/bar on Hubbard Street. Keep it up, team!

Monti’s (Chicago’s Own Piece of Philly) to Open in March

James Gottwald has left his position as culinary director for Chicago hotspots like Sunda and Underground and is gearing up to open something completely different: an authentic Philly cheesesteak spot, named Monti’s in Lincoln Square. Why he’s doing it right & why we should trust him with cheesesteaks: Gottwald grew up in Philly, he knows his cheesesteak, he knows high-quality ingredients, and he knows how to put it all together. Watch for this opening – coming in March. Here’s some bonus DIRT: Gottwald will be replacing the standard Philly cheesesteak staple of Cheez Whiz on his creations with aged Wisconsin cheddar sauce.
