Food Film Fest Event 6/9 @ The Glass House
This is a one in a lifetime opportunity that you cannot miss. Join us on June 9 for an unbelievable evening of the perfect pairing of food, film, and modern design. This event will be held at the Phillip Johnson Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut. Built in 1949 as Phillip Johnson’s own residence, it is regarded as a masterpiece in the use of glass, but also extremely important and influential in modern architecture. Like all Food Film Fest events (incredible, duh), you will be treated to some of the most intriguing and relevant food films accompanied by epicurean delights. This time you will also have access to the exquisite 47-acre campus of the Glass House. Starting with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres by Artisan Executive Chef Frederic Kieffer, then onto the film program presented by Festival Director George Motz, this Dine With Design event will be sure to spark your fire. Watch eight short films and eat what you see as seven of them will be including food pairings. Best of all, proceeds will directly benefit the Phillip Johnson Glass House, (a site of The National Trust for Historic Preservation). The New York Times even covered this event, so you know it’s a big deal. Read up on it here. Most importantly, get more information and purchase tickets by clicking here. See you on June 9.

Chicago Food Film Fest: Self-explanatory? Not so much. This festival ain’t your mama’s bag of buttered popcorn and rom-com. Food Film Fest = sold out weekend long party with wonderfully curated Chitown edibles and a crowd so hot we wanted to mac on them. Hey, you can’t blame us, this crowd was as sexy as the food porn on Festival screens. ChiFFF was most definitely a tall order. Everyone rocked it Friday through Sunday taking down mind blowing eats, luscious cocktails, and fab films. Chi Food Film Fest goers showed our many NYC pals how it’s done…Chicago style. Many thanks to Kendall College for hosting and reminding us just how fun college really is.
Below is Part 1 of 3 of our breakdown of the weekend complete with a photo ***slideshow*** from three photographers. Yup. So much love from the photogs. #Grateful. Stay tuned for Part 2 -> Edible Adventure Brunch @ Intelligentsia w Doughnut Vault, Danny Macaroons and mas + Part 3, The Great Chicago Shuck + Suck + Awards Brunch. Oh so much #DeliciousDIRT. In celebration of National Hamburger Month (May 2011), Festival Director George Motz is releasing his 2nd book and 1st iPhone app, both titled Hamburger America. The app will lead users to the 1500+ Motz-Approved burger joints around the USA, which he considers the best of the 10,000+ hamburgers he’s tasted. It will also include George’s menu picks, little stories about each place, and feature hundreds of Motz’s own drool-inducing burger photographs. Check em out HERE. Motz’s award-winning film and book, ”Hamburger America”, were the original inspiration for the NYC Food Film Festival. To celebrate the film’s premiere, Motz and Festival co-creator Harry Hawk, served some of the burgers featured in the film to the crowd as they watched. The event was such a success that they decided to do it again and invited other chefs and filmmakers to participate. The rest is history.
